Green Growth 2050 has recently certified all four Minor Hotels in Vietnam to its Global Standard.  These represent the first properties to be Certified in Vietnam and the first AVANI Hotel to be Certified worldwide; AVANI Hai Phong. Each Hotel achieved greater than 80% compliance reaching GOLD Certification status.

Congratulations to:

  • Anantara Mui Ne Resort;
  • AVANI Hai Phong Harbour View;
  • AVANI Quy Nhon Resort & Spa; and,
  • Anantara Hoi An Resort.

An outstanding effort from the Minor Hotel Group and the local teams.

Area General Manager for Vietnam and General Manager of Anantara Hoi An, Pieter van der Hoeven said it was an outstanding achievement from all the staff across the four resorts.

Pieter said that all the teams had worked extremely hard to embrace the Green Growth 2050 Standard and had found the experience challenging but rewarding.

Wayne McKinnon, CEO of Green Growth 2050 praised the resorts on their achievement considering the implementation of such a rigorous sustainability program is quite new to Vietnam.

During the visit, Anantara Hoi An also announced it was ‘Joining Hands’ with the Kianh Foundation – a not-for-profit charity providing full-time, customised, special needs curriculum for children with disabilities in Quang Nam Province, Central Vietnam.

The partnership is part of Anantara’s global Dollars For Deeds initiative that encourages guests at Anantara properties to support local communities by donating USD $1 a night to raise funds for a range of worthy causes, with Anantara matching each guest’s contribution.
